Beauty tech entrepreneur, Sindhya Valloppillil reveals her snarky writing style got her blackballed

As a kid she was mistaken for native American in her mostly white school in small town Texas. From making career choices that had her mother requesting her to see a psychiatrist, to being blackballed by investors for her snarky writing style, Sindhya followed her passion and carved a path for herself in beauty tech. She decided not to follow the desi route and become a doctor as per her family’s desire and instead studied fashion management. Her first job made her realize the importance of marketing in fashion and that eventually led to a career in beauty and retail.

Sindhya is a woman of many talents. She worked for renowned global beauty and luxury brands, been a professor, written on tech and beauty for magazines like Tech Crunch, and was a venture partner and diversity activist. She has now founded her own beauty tech company. She has also won awards as a marketing strategy and innovations executive.
